Why is St.Louis considered Americans most unsaf city? |
Travel Info i was born here and lived here every second of my life for 19 years and it dont seem that rough as everyone says it is Travel Tips Its all statistical, lets do the math. Lets say a city like St. Louis has a populations of 500,000 and let say in one month there are 5 murders. There is a crime rate of .00001 per capita. Now lets take a city like New York. Lets say the population is 5,000,000 and they have 10 murders in one month. New Yorks crime per capita is .000002. Now its obvious that New York had more murders in one month, but its crime per capita rate is much lower. That is what the media looks at, the crime rate per capita. Others The news quite often quotes statistics that "prove" it's suppose to be the highest in homicides and burglaries. The City only has about 350,000 people in it, while the entire metro area has almost 3 million. These statistics are skewed. Don't believe them. As with other Liberal Press Reports here is another example of wrongly reported news. It's considered that way because of the high crime rate in the CITY of St. Louis. Yes, the CITY of St. Louis is a dump in many places, and it will be hard for people from St. Louis to deny that, but some of the surrounding suburbs in St. Louis COUNTY and St. Charles county are nice. It was land lock in the late 19 century. I could not expand. The poor stayed on the most part which creates crime. If they considered the St Louis Metropolitan area then we would not be in the top twenty |
