I think no matter how much you take it'll feel like it's not enough. They say Australia is one of the more less expensive countries to tour in, that's nice lol. With all the places that take credit cards now, I would grab my VISA or Maser Card and say $500 in traveler's checks and maybe a couple hundred in cash and get on board. If the trip is all inclusive then that much the better. There is always ATMs if need be. The biggest thing is to take what you can afford to spend, or as much as you feel comfortable carrying with you, and ENJOY! yourself. Good Luck! and Have a Great Time! All expenses will be catered for on the cruise except drinks and on shore tours...but allow a further AU $100 for tips. As a rule we dont tip down here, but the cruise lines dont use Australian staff to make the beds etc. So the deal is..you ONLY tip the HEAD cabin GUY...AND THE DRINK WAITER AT YOUR DINNER TABLE...no one else. Half up front and half at the end if they do a good job. The $200 per day will get you at least $50 per day on souveneers and allow $150 per day for drinks [4 cocktails can eat up your money.] But that is bare minimum. As for the 4 days in Sydney, it really depends on your hotel, how many stars, how far from the city it is etc etc. Try and get a deal through your travel agent when you book the cruise...AND DO NOT DRINK KAVA when you get to the Islands...you will be on the loo for the rest of the cruise!! many many south pacific cruises |
