Can you return to Canada, after being refused at immigration? |
Travel Info I was at the US-Canadian border,I am a US born citizen,we where denied admission in to Canada because we didn't have enough money to prove we could support ourselves.Does anyone know if i can ever go back to Canada? Travel Tips Yes, you definitely can return. Sometimes Canadian immigration just like American immigration can be nasty. I was refused once because I had too much stuff in my car and they thought I was staying longer than the 3 weeks I said I was. Next time you go to the border, make sure you take tons of money. I had 600 dollars with me and 3 credit cards and they refused me. Make sure you prove how much money you have so that they can't refuse you for that. And don't say you're planning to stay for too long. If you say you're staying 6 months, they'll expect to see money to support yourself for six months, which of course would be thousands of dollars. Others Didn't have enough money to support yourself? How long were you planning on staying exactly? As long as they didn't ban you from the country, yes you can return in the future. I'm married to a Canadian, therefore we visit on a regular basis, despite being refused at the border once about 4 years ago. Personal experience Yes, It all depends on why you were refused. After a few year, you can apply again. |
