Any tips for a family holidaying in Tunisia? |
Travel Info Have heard varying reports on what to do and what to avoid in Tunisai! We are going next Sunday (2nd April) and was wondering if any who has been has any tips! Thank you. Travel Tips Some friends have been there. This is what I can advise you. Despite they鈥檙e the most open-minded around the Arabic world; Tunisians still think women are inferior. Never be completely alone. Tunisians detect tourists in a 1000 miles ratio. They will follow you, they will talk to you, they will try to be your servants, and they will try to show you the nicest places in the city. Please, don鈥檛 pay attention to them. Trust your feelings. Appearances do really count. It is good to make them clear that you/your friends want to be alone. Don鈥檛 be impolite, but be clear and strict. They鈥檒l measure that. All Arabic people love to argue about bargains. As soon as you look any article/souvenir, they will offer it to you. Normally, its real price is HALF or 75% cheaper than the real price. If you answer them: 鈥淥h, I was just looking, thanks anyway鈥濃€hey鈥檒l try to make you buy whatever! Sometimes they get offended if you don鈥檛 buy something! Don鈥檛 care about them. Again, emphasize what you really want and keep yourself steady. Keep moving. Don鈥檛 stop too much, taking photos, having a face that you鈥檙e lost or 鈥搘orst of all- OPENING a city map in a crowded area! That鈥檇 mean you鈥檙e the honey, and the others will be the bees. I guess the most uncomfortable place for a girl is the beach. You鈥檒l feel their penetrating stares. Choose private beaches and carry your clothes for dressing yourself after getting your bath. You won't be comfortable using your bikini all the time. A friend of mine a Muslim person approached to her father, and asked him his daughters鈥?hand!!! No, he didn鈥檛 offer him camels, but he had a lot of money, indeed. Source(s): I guess those are the most significant tips I can provide you. The rest tips are the same as traveling to another city. Besides, don鈥檛 forget common sense is your best ally. ;) Other Travel Tips Yah, get as many shots as you can before you leave and be willing to be raped and/or robbed. Who in the world vacations in Tunisia on purpose? What i can advice is that u don't miss to visit the follwing towns, if not ur visit is incomplete! the best towns are Mahdia, sousse, hammamet. you shoudn't miss! if u like sahara and camels u can take in excursion with ur hotel to the south of Tunisia. there's a lot to see there! just don't miss. About ppl, they are friendly, some behavior from vendors are rejected even by other tunisian ppl, but don't care to them they can do nothing if u dowana buy! u r welcome to tunisia, just relax and enjoy ur holidays, u r always safe in Tunisia! a tunisian citizen |
